As an Infrastructure Security Engineer at Vocus, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our infrastructure. Working within the Network Operations team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining security measures to protect our network, systems, and data from threats.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement security controls to protect the company's infrastructure, including Operational Technology, Networks, Servers, Databases, and Applications.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans to identify and address potential security risks and weaknesses.
  • Drive the completion of CVE response efforts, providing monitoring and responding appropriately where necessary. Communicate priorities to teams responsible for applying patches.
  • Lead vulnerability mitigation efforts, collaborating with cross-functional teams to prioritize and address identified vulnerabilities.
  • Work closely with IT Security Operations, Information Security and Facilities Team’s to ensure the security of the carrier network, including monitoring for suspicious activities and responding to security incidents.
  • Manage processes and communications related to security incidents, ensuring timely and accurate notifications to customers and stakeholders.
  • Ensure existing customer Internet products strictly adhere to MANRS (Mutually Agreed Norms for Routing Security) Compliance, including implementing Reverse Path Forwarding Checks.

 

Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Security, or related field.
  • Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH) preferred.
  • Proven experience (5-10 years) working in a similar role, with a focus on infrastructure security in a telecommunications or related industry.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, systems architecture, and cloud technologies, with the ability to design and implement security controls in complex environments.
  • Proficiency in security tools and technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, SIEM solutions, and vulnerability management platforms.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess and mitigate security risks effectively.

Special Conditions:

· Australia Government NV1, minimum, is required for this role.
